Greenacre Group
Are you ready to become part of Sheffield’s housing transformation?
Greenacre Recruitment is proud to be partnering with Sheffield City Council to recruit three brand new Assistant Director roles. This is your opportunity to help lead one of the most ambitious housing transformations in the UK.
As one of the country’s largest social landlords, with a stock of nearly 40,000 homes, Sheffield is a city with bold plans, a fresh Housing Strategy, and a clear roadmap for change. If you're an experienced housing leader who’s ready to make a lasting difference, this is your moment.
We are recruiting to the following roles:
Assistant Director of Asset Management: https://buff.ly/6cXJtqh
In this role you’ll be leading the strategic stewardship of the Council’s Housing Revenue Account assets - ranging from domestic stock to green spaces and district heating.
You’ll shape the long-term Asset Management Strategy, overseeing capital delivery, leasehold services, energy efficiency, and ensuring Sheffield’s homes are safe, decent and future-ready. Bring your vision, commercial mindset and ability to prioritise funding with impact.

Assistant Director of Repairs & Maintenance: https://buff.ly/u6xspAP
This role is about modernising operations, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a team through transformation. You’ll bring experience of turning around performance and a collaborative, people-first leadership style. As Assistant Director of Repairs & Maintenance, you’ll be taking charge of a large-scale in-house repairs service with 600+ staff, overseeing responsive repairs, planned works, M&E, voids and damp & mould services.

Assistant Director of Building Safety & Compliance: https://buff.ly/hjTsFE6
As the senior accountable officer for all building safety and compliance issues across council housing, you’ll also be overseeing private sector housing services.
With major investment programmes underway, including a £40m refurbishment of 20 tower blocks - and a focus on full compliance with Awaab’s Law and regulatory expectations - this role calls for technical expertise, strategic clarity, and strong regulatory experience.
