A Fond Farewell to our Outgoing WISH Chair Tracey McEachran

July marks the end of an era for WISH as we say a fond farewell to Tracey McEachran, who formally stepped down as Chair of our CIC Board at its most recent meeting.

Over almost a decade of dedicated service, Tracey has helped shape WISH through some of its most significant moments. From leading our London Region and guiding the organisation through the challenges of the pandemic, to becoming WISH's first President and launching the Hear Her Voice campaign before serving as Chair of the CIC Board, her leadership has strengthened the organisation and inspired countless women across the housing sector.

Nicola Dibb, Co-founder of WISH, paid tribute to Tracey, saying:

"As Chair of WISH, Tracey has made an extraordinary contribution, helping to shape the organisation through a period of growth and change while always remaining true to its values and purpose.

Tracey combines enthusiasm and energy with a calm, thoughtful approach that has been invaluable to our volunteer Board. Whether navigating challenging discussions, resolving conflict or supporting difficult decisions, she has an ability to bring people together and create an environment where everyone feels listened to and respected.

Externally, Tracey has played a significant role in raising the profile of WISH and supporting our President, acting as a passionate ambassador for the organisation and everything it stands for. Internally, her impact has been just as significant.

Tracey leaves WISH in a stronger position because of her leadership, commitment and unwavering support. She will be greatly missed by all of us, both professionally and personally. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done and wish her every success and happiness in the future."

WISH is also delighted to announce that Tracey's successor as Chair of the CIC Board is Nicola Brown, one of our current CIC Directors. Many of our members will know Nicola through her longstanding involvement with WISH spanning more than 20 years, including her previous role as Chair of our North West Regional Board.

Reflecting on her time with WISH, Tracey McEachran said:

"It has been an enormous privilege to serve WISH over the past decade, from my time on the London Board through to becoming the organisation's first President and, most recently, Chair of the CIC Board.

I've had the opportunity to work alongside some incredible people. WISH has always been about creating a space where women feel welcomed, supported and able to see themselves as leaders.

As I step down, I do so with immense gratitude, fierce hope and complete confidence in WISH's future. The need for organisations like WISH remains as important as ever, and I know Nicola and the Board will continue to nurture women, amplify their voices and inspire the next generation of leaders."

We look forward to introducing Nicola more fully in the coming weeks, alongside the rest of our Board colleagues, as she begins this exciting new chapter in WISH's journey.
