WISH ‘Living Our Values’ Awards - Celebrating our Home Grown Talent

"What impressed me most was the collective energy and enthusiasm on display throughout the event.  The creativity and innovation evident on the day helps us to ensure the sector and the women working within it are able to flourish in their respective roles.”

Every year, we ask all our regional board members to vote for one of their own who they feel has lived the WISH values the most.

This might be someone who has been the most welcoming at events, has taken a very active part in organising events or encouraged new members to come along.  The board member from each region who gets the most votes is invited to join us, along with their chair, at our special awards lunch.  It’s special because it’s our chance to say thank you.

This year, we were delighted to be joined by representatives from Lovell, our awards sponsors, who had kindly agreed to sponsor this thank you lunch.  Clare Smithson, Head of HR and Eadaoin Kelly, Divisional Head of Social Impact, joined us at Wolfox, Strand, London for this celebratory lunch and a chance to properly acknowledge the work of some of our fabulous volunteers.  A huge thank you to Lovell without which this would not have been possible.

Clare and Eadaoin said:

“At Lovell, doing the right thing is a core value and guides every decision we make. We were proud to sponsor the recent WISH Living Our Values Awards to celebrate remarkable women whose dedication, innovation and leadership transform communities and drive positive change across the sector.

As a housing partnership specialist, working with WISH, we’re committed to championing diversity and elevating talent to support a more inclusive and progressive future for the housing industry, and this event aligns perfectly with this ethos.”

We were also joined by some of our CIC board members following a CIC board meeting that morning.  Judith Common said:

“As one of the newer CIC directors, this was the first time I had attended the ‘Living Our Values’ awards.  What impressed me most was the collective energy and enthusiasm on display throughout the event.  The creativity and innovation evident on the day helps us to ensure the sector and the women working within it are able to flourish in their respective roles.”

As well as being a WISH CIC Director, Judith is a non-executive director of Tyne Housing and was the founding chair of believe housing.
