Earlier this month, I had the absolute honour of speaking at the WISH South East event “Preventing Burnout in Housing: Why Boundaries and Resilience Matter.” Set in the calm surroundings of Ruxley Manor and accompanied by the most glorious afternoon tea, we came together to talk about something often overlooked in our sector - us.
Working in housing can be relentless. The weight of responsibility. The constant pressure. The emotional labour. We show up every day with a deep sense of care for others, but all too often, forget to care for ourselves.
During the session, we explored simple but powerful truths:
We even dipped our toes into the world of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), and I shared my own journey from burnout to breakthrough, how hitting rock bottom became the foundation for something new, something meaningful.
Why I Do What I Do
After over two decades in leadership roles across housing and compliance, I found myself completely depleted. Externally successful, internally running on fumes. When I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia later in life, so much finally made sense. But it also lit a fire in me.
I founded One True Path to help others reconnect with who they really are, not who they think they should be. I now support individuals and organisations through:
This work isn’t just about performance. It’s about wholeness. It’s about helping people find their way back to themselves, gently and powerfully.
Proud to Be Part of the WISH Family
I’m incredibly grateful to WISH for creating spaces where real, honest conversations like this can happen and for championing women in our sector with such integrity, courage and heart. It’s an honour to be part of the WISH family.
If anything, I shared helped even one person feel less alone, more seen, or more empowered to put themselves back on the priority list then I know I’ve done what I came to do.
You are already more incredible than you realise.
