WISH North Wales: Walk and Talk by the Sea

Bathed in sunshine, Rhyl provided the perfect backdrop as members gathered for a three-mile round trip along the promenade and beach.

Building on the success of last summer’s inaugural Walk and Talk to Aber Falls, we headed to the coast on 7th July for our second event of this kind - and the weather certainly didn’t disappoint.

Bathed in sunshine, Rhyl provided the perfect backdrop as members gathered for a three-mile round trip along the promenade and beach. We were also delighted to be joined by two adorable four-legged companions, Leo and Theo, the Greek hare hounds, who were impeccably behaved and happily accepted plenty of cuddles along the way.

Keen to give something back to the local community, we borrowed litter pickers and bags from Keep Wales Tidy and collected any litter we came across during our walk. Thankfully, Rhyl was looking remarkably clean, although we still managed to fill a couple of bags.

A welcome highlight of the evening was a well-earned rest stop, where North Wales Board members Jayne and Pen had thoughtfully arranged a selection of delicious snacks and refreshments which we enjoyed while admiring the view out to sea.

It was a fantastic evening, and we are grateful to everyone who joined us. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to catch up with familiar faces, meet new friends, and enjoy some great conversations in a relaxed and informal setting.

We’re already looking forward to our next event. The North Wales Board will be hosting another gathering in September, and while we’re keeping the details under wraps for now, we can reveal that we already have a fantastic speaker lined up—so watch this space!
