Embracing our allies was the theme for WISH East’s International Women’s Day online event.  

A thought-provoking session with amazing speakers, who were united and unequivocal in their belief that equity isn’t just a nice-to-have, it’s a must-have.  Anna Williams, Khi Rafe and Marie Victoire shared their professional and personal lived experiences and talked through how everyone could contribute and be part of a society where equity is an integral part of its DNA.

Anna Williams recently joined Moat as their new Diversity and Inclusion Manager.  She started her housing career as a trainee 20 years ago with a London Council before moving into the housing association sector. She is always happy to share her professional and personal experiences and contacts to help ensure inclusion and belonging for all.

Khi Rafe has over 20 years of experience in Human Resource Management as an employee relations specialist and consultant specialising in organisational psychology, employee engagement, equality and diversity.  Her research areas have focused on behaviours at work and she helps organisations establish a culture which supports and encourages belonging.

Marie Victoire currently works within the Building Safety Team at The Hyde Group, having gained a wealth of knowledge in fire safety and data assurance. She strongly believes in equality for all and is a champion for diversity and inclusion.  In 2022 Marie was the prestigious winner of the Future Leader Award at the G15 Ethnicity Awards.

A very open and honest event which received some fantastic feedback including one delegate who said “Rarely do I find myself completely moved by a lunchtime event but the shared lived experiences, insights and true allyship of the speakers was so powerful, it stopped you in your tracks.  It was a real privilege to attend.”
