WISH East Christmas Networking Event in Cambridge: A Night of Connection and Impact

Networking the WISH way is about creating meaningful relationships—it's not just about who you know, but who knows you! Spotlight on the Women’s Homelessness Action Group (WHAG)

A highlight of the evening was the introduction to the recently formed Women’s Homelessness Action Group (WHAG). Their dedication to supporting vulnerable women through their night haven project truly captured the room's attention and admiration.

The night haven provides a safe, welcoming space overnight for vulnerable women in Cambridge. Women who visit the haven have access to essential services, including:

• Hot food and drinks

• Showers and laundry facilities

• Trauma-informed support and advice

The impact of this initiative has been profound. Since the pilot began in June 2024, WHAG has significantly reduced the number of homeless people sleeping rough on the streets of Cambridge. Their work is a testament to the power of community-led action and compassionate support.
