Here at WISH Midlands we’re are delighted to welcome 3 new highly skilled and talented board members to our Regional Board. We are proud to have attracted 3 women who truly espouse the values of WISH and look forward to working with them.
Janine Green has rejoined us after taking a break to launch her new business. Janine has worked in the field of tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) for 13 years and now holds the Managing Director role at a national, profit for purpose organisation, which aims to develop and share best practice in tackling ASB.
Janine has won a number of awards and has supported various Home Office departments and campaigns. She sites on several national policy forums and is often interviewed by the BBC on this topic.
Janine now provides support directly to her clients and also delivers public speaking and 121 support for people struggling with imposter type issues and low confidence.
Of WISH, Janine said
“I truly believe in the power of people supporting each other, for both personal and professional development. Women are so often fighting battles against a lack of confidence and self-doubt and believes we need others around us to realize we’re normal and not let this hold us back.”
We are also proud to welcome Olusola Jinadu. Shola is the Member Experience Manager at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH). She has over 10 years’ experience of working in membership services, high profile event management, systems development, implementation and improving member value, all of which are skills that will help support the growth strategy at WISH.
Shola currently sits on the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion group at the CIH and is passionate about making a difference in the housing sector and beyond.
Shola said,
“I joined WISH Midlands Board because I am passionate about empowering women to succeed in every aspect of their lives. It is a great opportunity to network and further develop my ambitions. I would love to use my presence as a board member as a point of encouragement."
Her message is:
“You are capable, able and you can have it all.”
Last but not least, we are excited to welcome Sophie Evans. Sophie is the Communications Specialist for Wolverhampton Homes. She is the perfect fit for WISH as she’s passionate about supporting and championing women in social housing and loves to chat and meet people. She believes that making a difference is the foundation of success, and that is why she founded the Age and Gender staff form at Wolverhampton Homes, to highlight the strength of women of all ages and to break down workplace boundaries. With WISH, she seeks to develop and grasp all new opportunities.
On joining the board, she said,
“I’m delighted to be part of a team who align with my values, to support and champion women of all ages. Having a strong support network of such inspirational women is so important, and I can’t wait to work with new and existing members within the Midlands Region.
As we emerge from the restrictions the pandemic has put on us, we at WISH Midlands feel that women in the sector will benefit from the greatly from support and networking that our organisation provides. Many of our members have told us that they miss the face-to-face networking opportunities that we previously provided. We are keen to resume face to face session as soon as it is practicable and safe to do so.
Sometimes in life we have difficult decisions to make; decisions that lead to us having to move on from something that we really love.
