A huge thank you to everyone who joined our Christmas party! It was wonderful to laugh and connect with such an amazing group. Your generosity in supporting the Rape & Sexual Violence Project was deeply appreciated, as they work towards a future free from sexual violence and abuse. A special shoutout to Matt Baird for infusing the quiz with incredible energy!

Celebrating Black History Month

Women In Social Housing (WISH) Midlands celebrated Black History Month with an inspiring online event. Charmaine Simei CIHCM shared captivating stories about this year's theme: Reclaiming Narrative.

This event was an excellent opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate. Many people joined us, we aimed to expand our themes beyond Black History Month and celebrate the stories, achievements, and social impact of our black community.

EAST MIDLANDS Networking Lunch

Our EAST MIDLANDS networking lunch on 16th September, was a tremendous success. We were delighted to see our WISH East Midlands members and others interested in learning more about WISH.

A huge thanks to everyone who joined us! We had an amazing time filled with meaningful conversations and connections! Thanks to Browne Jacobson for sponsoring the event and their wonderful hospitality.

With comments like 'The room was buzzing with conversation - very uplifting to see new networks being built,' it was an inspiring event, meeting wonderful women full of passion and purpose!

Summer Social: Hot Topics

We held our Summer Social on the 16th May at the Theatrix Birmingham which was kindly sponsored by RSK and Bevan Brittan.

It was a fun evening of drinks, networking, and light learning! We were joined by guest speakers from Bevan Brittan LLP, RSK Group, and Housing Diversity Network as we delved into our hot topics - Regulation/Governance, Sustainability, and Championing EDI.

Our Speakers:

  • Chloe Tilford, HDN Senior Consultant: Discussing ED&I. Chloe’s diverse background and passion for positive change brought fresh insights to our members.

  • Sarah Greenhalgh, Bevan Brittan Partner: Covering regulation and governance. Sarah’s extensive experience and strategic advice offered valuable guidance to all attendees.

We looked forward to exciting events on the horizon! We appreciated your continued participation throughout the year. Thanks to all your support and engagement, WISH Midlands remains stronger than ever!
