WISH North East - Winter Newsletter 2018

The WISH North East Region is going from strength to strength.

The Board meets on a monthly basis and has its first event arranged to discuss 'Why it is important to have women in leadership roles in the Sector'. We are delighted that Angela Lockwood, CEO of North Star and Tina Drury, Managing Director of YHN have agreed to speak.  Muckles have kindly agreed to sponsor and over 50 people have registered so far which is a fantastic result for our first event. We have also written out to all Chief Executives in the Region and made them aware that WISH NE is now up and running and given them the opportunity to share with us any good practice in relation to this agenda that they would like to, participate in events, take up Corporate Membership and Sponsor events so we are looking forward to hearing from them.

We have been doing some regional research to identify the state of play in relation to women being represented in senior Leadership positions in the Region. We were also delighted to see so many regional representatives shortlisted at the WIH awards recently and we were delighted that Kelly Henderson one of our Board Members was awarded Professional of the Year at the 24 Housing Awards recently for her work with the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA), fantastic achievement and well deserved.
