January 2022
Lucy Malarkey has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Women in Social Housing (WISH).
Lucy will take up the role in January 2022, bringing with her over 25 years of experience working in the social housing sector in various leadership roles.
In 2020 she co-founded Positive About Inclusion, an equality, diversity and inclusion consultancy and training provider. Lucy will combine her role as WISH Managing Director with her consultancy work, bringing added value to both.
She replaces Helen Greig, who is standing down as Managing Director.
Lucy said: “Improving culture in the workplace motivates me every day, and as the Managing Director of WISH's network, I am looking forward to raising important issues and giving women in our industry every opportunity to flourish.
“Helen has done a fantastic job at WISH. The organisation is in a strong position and Helen has set a really positive direction.
"This is a truly exciting time to be taking the lead, and I am committed to continuing the work to attract the best talent into social housing while creating environments that are welcoming and diverse.”
Helen said: "Lucy's background in creating inclusive workplaces will be invaluable for the network. On top of that, her first-hand experience in housing made her the perfect person to take over the role.
"I am excited to see what she goes on to achieve as she leads WISH through its next stages of growth."
For over 20 years, WISH has provided a space for women working in all aspects of social housing across the public and private sectors to meet in an inclusive and supportive environment.
It has grown to now be made up of nine regions, 500 members and up to 3,000 other women and male allies who support the network and attend events.

Notes to editors:
WISH runs its network through nine regional groups across the UK. Members can meet like-minded women and enjoy inspiring events in a relaxed and fun environment.
The network takes its work into schools to support young women to consider careers in housing. It also assists women already working in the sector to progress and develop.
