Women In Social Housing (WISH) has announced the appointment of Jayne Entwistle as its new managing director.
Jayne brings a wealth of experience across both the public and private sectors, and is a highly respected figure in housing and social investment. She is known for her strong track record of leadership, operational expertise, and long-standing commitment to driving positive and lasting impact.
Jayne has held a number of senior leadership roles across the UK. Most recently, she served as head of area support at Local Trust, a national place-based funder, where she was responsible for managing support to 150 Big Local Areas across England, and building regional support networks through partnerships with freelance advisors and delivery partners.
Notably, Jayne has also played a key role in leading social investment strategies and driving community development as the head of social investment at Great Places Housing Group, where she led employment and skills programmes across the North West and Yorkshire.
As managing director, she will lead WISH into its next chapter, focusing on expanding the organisation’s impact, strengthening key partnerships, and advocating for gender equality and representation across the housing sector.
“WISH’s mission aligns closely with my own values – especially around inclusion, social impact, and empowering others,” Jayne Entwistle said. “There’s still work to do to achieve true equality in the sector, and I’m excited to be part of the movement leading that change. I look forward to building on the incredible work already taking place across the network.”
In her new role, she will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of WISH’s operations and initiatives, taking over the role from Lucy Malarkey on Thursday, 1 May.
Crystal Hicks, president of WISH, said:
“Jayne’s appointment marks an exciting new chapter for WISH. Her extensive experience, sector knowledge, and her commitment to inclusion will undoubtedly help us grow our influence and impact across the sector.
“She joins the team at a pivotal moment, and with her leadership, we’re confident WISH will continue to champion equality and support women at every stage of their housing careers.”
