We have created a new Allocations Team Leader role as part of this change program and are looking for a candidate with the experience and drive to help us deliver our ambitious plans.

Supporting and coaching our colleagues along the way you will have the opportunity to develop and embed our new ways of working, helping to create a team that’s proud of what we do and able to meet our customer needs.

In this exciting new leadership role, you will be undertaking a wide range of duties including managing day-to-day functions within the Allocations team as well as managing a small case load. You will be reporting to the Neighbourhood Manager while providing direction for your team; the Allocations Specialists and Allocation Assistant. You will ensure they consistently deliver excellent service to customers and meet key performance indicators.

In this role you will deliver the operational allocation service within agreed targets and budgets as well as supervise the lettings service in line with regulatory, legislative and One Manchester’s policy protocols. You will be expected to champion the choice-based lettings function and ensure properties are advertised in an accurate and timely manner.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be professional, have a high level of emotional intelligence, be approachable and accessible to colleagues, customers and stakeholders; clear and frequent communication will be key. You will also need to liaise seamlessly with your line manager and team to complete projects, offer recommendations and collaborate across teams to resolve customer complaints. Being available and willing to provide coaching and support to your team where and when necessary is also essential.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • An experienced line manager or team leader, who has led and performance managed teams in the delivery of operational plans, working with other inhouse teams and managing external partners as required.
  • Demonstrates specialist knowledge in lettings services, within a housing association, with a good understanding of relevant legislation and regulations, with an ability to deliver continuous improvement to services.
  • Has good working knowledge of IT systems.
  • Possesses an Institute of Customer Service qualification, CIH qualification or equivalent is desirable.
