• 35 Hours per week

An opportunity has arisen for a Domestic Abuse Support Officer to join our Shropshire Domestic Abuse Service. This will involve being an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team who support clients facing multiple disadvantage such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, mental health and who are/at risk of rough sleeping.

You will be supporting clients to access the necessary services to help them move through this traumatic period in their life. Candidates should have previous experience of working in a front-line service with individuals in crisis situations and be able to demonstrate an understanding of domestic abuse issues across all communities. 

Candidates must have excellent communication and active listening skills together with a natural sense of professional curiosity. You will have an understanding of a trauma informed approach when supporting adults who are victims of domestic abuse. 

The role is based in Shrewsbury and involves travelling throughout the Shropshire county, with colleagues from the multi-disciplinary team to provide support on an outreach basis.
