Audit and Risk Committee Member

Greenacre Group

Have you been considering a Board role but unsure how to approach it?  Have you considered a committee role as a stepping stone to a full Board role?
Do you have a background in risk management and business assurance, and want to have a positive impact on peoples lives?

Following the transition of a committee member to a full Board role, we are looking to add a new member to the Audit & Risk committee which is an integral part of the governance structure at Freebridge Community Housing.

This role will give you the opportunity to contribute your expertise and insights to give assurance to the Board around the organisations risks and financial stability. You will be expected to examine and constructively challenge audit performance, identify areas for improvement in Freebridge’s risk exposure and ensure the adequacy of Freebridge’s internal controls.

The Organisation:

Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 7,000 homes across West Norfolk, making a difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles.

We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Homes and Community Maintenance team. Over the last 17 years, there have been numerous achievements, not least delivering our tenants’ promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living.

Who we are looking for:

If you have an enquiring mind, are ready to challenge, question and support, happy to share your knowledge gained from your senior level experience and to officer a solution focused approach, we would love to hear from you.

Diversity:

Freebridge are committed to developing an organisational culture which values people from all sections of the community. This involves creating an inclusive environment that builds on everything that makes people unique and gives everyone a fair and equal chance to be successful. Freebridge encourages understanding and focus around diversity, encourages people to be themselves at work, to promote an environment which feels more exciting, fair and where all staff are included. We encourage applications from everyone.
