Remuneration £5,100 a year (approx. 2 days per month, including a balance of remote and face to face meetings)
The role:
The purpose of the Board at Freebridge Community Housing is to direct the affairs of the organisation, ensuring its compliance with legislation, its financial viability and that it operates effectively and efficiently. Having recently completed a re-financing programme, the Board is looking to bolster its expertise in the area of Treasury Management & Finance.
You would be required to contribute to the Board’s discussions on a wide range of issues, in particular taking the lead on Treasury and Finance matters. You would also be expected to sit on the Development and Asset Committee, which oversees the ambitious development programme at Freebridge.
The Organisation:
Freebridge Community Housing is the largest provider of housing in West Norfolk, set up in 2006 to receive the transfer of homes from the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk. Today, we own and manage around 7,000 homes across West Norfolk, making a difference to thousands of customers within communities across an area of almost 550 square miles.
We have an annual turnover of £30m and employ well over 200 people, including our own Homes and Community Maintenance team. Over the last 17 years, there have been numerous achievements, not least delivering our tenants’ promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living.
Who we are looking for:
You will have extensive Finance & Treasury experience, ideally ACT-qualified (or qualified by experience). You will have an enquiring mind, be ready to challenge, question and support, and be happy to share your knowledge gained from your senior level experience. Housing sector experience is not essential.
Diversity:
Freebridge are committed to developing an organisational culture which values people from all sections of the community. This involves creating an inclusive environment that builds on everything that makes people unique and gives everyone a fair and equal chance to be successful. Freebridge encourages understanding and focus around diversity, encourages people to be themselves at work, to promote an environment which feels more exciting, fair and where all staff are included. We encourage applications from everyone. If you require any support with the application process for these roles, please contact [email protected]
