Senior Lift Consultant
Location: London Bridge (hybrid)
Hours: 35 hours per week
The role and responsibilities:
We're seeking an experienced Senior Lift Consultant to help our busy team in providing lift maintenance audits, feasibility surveys and condition reports, as well as drafting tender documentation and contract administration duties for the replacement and modernisation of lift installations.
In the main, we support clients in the residential sectors and cover low-, mid- and high-rise buildings. Working as part of a small team of lift consultants, you will play a crucial role in delivering and improving the quality and safety of lift installations to our clients.
What you'll be doing:
* Acting as a point of contact for Clients providing Lift consultancy support.
* Carrying out maintenance audits of existing lift assets.
* Carrying out condition survey of existing lift assets, with recommendations reports and budget costs.
* Carrying out design and employers’ requirements for the replacement and modernisation of lift assets.
* Carrying out tender analysis, design and technical review of lift contractors submissions.
* Carrying out contract administration, organise and chair meetings and supervise the lift installation project.
* Contributing to peer review of work completed by other team members.
* Developing fee proposals and providing estimates in conjunction with the group leader.
* Monitoring and controlling the costs, scope and program against the budget, scope, schedule and resources.
* Inputting into the team’s workload resources schedule for budget and resource planning purposes.
* Proactively coordinating with other disciplines on project work and through engineering networks.
* Communicating effectively with clients, seeks feedback and develops or fosters client relationships.
* Contributing practical ideas for better working practise and support implementation.
What you'll need:
Qualifications:
• NVQ level 3 – Lift Engineering
• J5 qualification with EOR202 site safety will be considered
Experience:
• Minimum 15 years of UK experience in Lift engineering, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar advisory role.
• Candidates with early years’ experience within installation or maintenance engineering background preferred.
Knowledge:
• Demonstrate a good knowledge and understanding of all aspects of Lift Engineering.
• Relevant experience with knowledge of the CIBSE Guide D, BS EN 81, and related standards.
• Sound knowledge of Lift Engineering, project / contract administration, Health and Safety.
Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good interpersonal and presentational skills
• Strong multi-tasking, and ability to work on a portfolio of multiple projects at various stages.
• Strong people skills.
• Personable and confident.
• Able to work with minimum supervision and to supervise others.
• Able to produce written reports in good English and where appropriate use technical language.
• Proficient in the use of basic software (word, excel, MS Project etc).
• Work as part of a team using own initiative
• Proficient with financial information.
