Poplar HARCA is an award-winning housing and regeneration organisation with a national reputation for innovative urban and social regeneration.
Poplar HARCA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people who use or are connected to our services or activities.
We have a duty of care, based on law and guidance, to protect children and young people from abuse or neglect. We believe that every child has the right to feel safe and be protected from any situation or practice that could result in him or her being significantly harmed. Poplar HARCA endorses the principle that safeguarding is everybody’s business.
An opportunity has arisen within our Community Development & Wellbeing team for a Nursery Practitioner.
The Nursery Practitioner will deliver a nursery service on behalf of Poplar HARCA; ensuring that a full programme of activities is available to the children in one’s care and that all statutory and best practice childcare and safeguarding practices, policies and procedures are adhered to.

*To communicate with parents and carers in a positive and constructive manner and to encourage parental involvement within the nursery.
*To provide a high standard of care and education.

*To offer a full programme of activities at each session and to recognise the need for careful planning and involving other staff, trainees and volunteers in order to develop the potential of each child.
*To have a working knowledge of first aid and health & safety procedures and being able to apply these accordingly. The setting up, lifting and storage of heavy equipment is a requirement of this post.
*To maintain records as required and in line with any Poplar HARCA, local authority, or Government guidelines; for example attendance records, accident and incident books and children’s records.
*Ensuring the continued development of the nursery in line with national and local requirements and policies.
