WISH Midlands Spring 2018 Newsletter Update

WISH Midlands has had a busy start to 2018, kicking off in January with a wellness workshop. The networking session gave members practical tools to increase resilience and manage stress - key skills essential to housing professionals asked to do more with less.

The board chair, Rebecca Clarke, said: “We all share the passion to help people and make a difference, and this has become increasingly more difficult under cuts to the sector and subsequent commercial drive. As a response to mental health and wellbeing getting more recognition, our first event of the year aimed to support women with this issue”.

The Midlands group also hosted a round-table to celebrate International Women’s Day. Attendees, including the editor of 24housing and housing influencers from across the region, gathered on 9 March to discuss how we ensure a strong pipeline of female talent in the sector with questions sent in via Twitter.
