Farewell to Nicola Brown and a Warm Welcome to Helen Scott!

This year marked a significant day for the Women in Social Housing (WISH) North West community as we say a heartfelt farewell to our long-standing North West Chair, Nicola Brown, and warmly welcome Helen Scott as her successor.

Nicola has been a cornerstone of WISH North West, dedicated as a member, board member, and Chair for many years. Her journey with WISH North West began with the inspiration from founding members and the vision of a united front for women in housing. Together with a remarkable team, including Emma Hanson, Sarah Davies, Claire Hamlin, and many others, Nicola helped to shape the North West region into what it is today. Special recognition goes to Jenny Neville, whose "Women at the Top" events continue to inspire, and Liz Sidgwick (nee Brown) for her innovative event ideas.

Nicola's leadership and dedication have left an indelible mark on WISH North West.

Looking Forward

As we bid farewell to Nicola, we are excited to welcome Helen L Scott from Riverside as the new North West Chair. Helen, supported by a strong team, is poised to lead the region into its next phase with vision and enthusiasm.

Women in Leadership Event

The WISH North West "Women in Leadership" event, held on Thursday, 26th September, at Weaver Vale Housing Trust, was a resounding success! The afternoon was filled with insightful discussions, valuable networking opportunities, and inspiring stories from leading women in the housing and property sectors.

Event Highlights:

• Networking Lunch: Attendees enjoyed a delightful lunch, kindly sponsored by Andersen James, which provided the perfect opportunity to connect and share experiences.

• Inspirational Speakers: Amanda Newton, CEO of RBH, and Kathryn Fox, MD at Jonnie Johnson Housing, captivated the audience with their unique experiences and leadership insights. Their stories of triumphs and challenges in leadership resonated deeply with all participants.

Special thanks to Amy Tagoe for organising this impactful session and to all who contributed to making this event such a success. The positive feedback and enthusiastic participation underscore the importance of these gatherings in empowering women in the housing sector.
