Welcome from WISH Yorkshire, we’ve had a busy year so far including a brand new website and logo! We hope you like it as much as we do.
We start with some sad news as Michelle Gregg steps down from our board, she has proved to have been an invaluable asset to us since our very beginnings in Yorkshire and she will be sorely missed. We know we’ll be keeping in touch though and we can’t thank you enough for all your hard work!
We have also welcomed a few new members to the board, we are always looking for enthusiastic members to promote WISH, encourage new members and help us run events! If you’re interested either come and talk to us at our next event or email us. We’re committed to being an inclusive group and we encourage applications from people from the widest possible diversity of backgrounds, cultures and experiences.
We have launched a piece of partnership work with Incommunities & Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing to help share knowledge and encourage underrepresented groups into the sector. This is a regular meeting so we would encourage anyone who may be interested to get in touch. We’re asking you to share your knowledge and best practice (and even your own stories) to help us share the opportunities our sector can offer.
We were recently joined by long term supporter, Emma Walker-Cotton of Causeway Consulting who lead a session on ‘Getting your voice heard’. This jam-packed session has us still reflecting a week later! Emma as ever delivered an absolute blinder of a session on how to influence, challenge negativity and beliefs (including your own) tackle imposter syndrome and optimise our performance. The feedback was amazing, if you get chance to hear Emma speak – grab it with both hands!
We’ve sat down and planned the diary for the next year so keep your eyes peeled for future events including a Molton Brown pamper evening and our ever popular ‘beat the January blues’ post-xmas networking event.
